Guido Hendrikx is a film director and screenwriter, based in Amsterdam. He graduated at Utrecht University (Liberal Arts & Sciences) and the Netherlands Film Academy (Directing Documentary). During film school he directed the shorts “Escort” (2013) and “Among Us” (2014) and co-wrote the script for the short “Fernweh” (2014, Ena Sendijarevic), which screened extensively in international festivals winning numerous awards. After his studies he worked as a scout and curator for the Dutch video platform The Correspondent. “Stranger In Paradise”, which opened IDFA 2016, is his feature debut.
Max Kestner graduated as a documentary film director from the National Film School of Denmark in 1997. He made “Max by chance” in 2004, which was chosen for First Appearance at IDFA Amsterdam. He has made several feature length documentaries in Denmark and has won several Danish Academy Awards.
Petr Lom and Corinne van Egeraat are a filmmaking couple based in the Netherlands. Petr Lom is an internationally respected human rights filmmaker whose award winning films have premiered at Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA, Locarno and Rotterdam, screened at more than 250 festivals around the world and broadcast in more than thirty countries.
Creative producer and director Corinne van Egeraat is known for innovative storytelling. In addition to directing many films in the Netherlands, she is now producing projects that especially focus on artists in countries where freedom of expression is threatened.
They have combined their strengths together on their last two films – “ANA ANA: (“I am me” in Arabic) and now “Burma Storybook”.
Rémi Grellety is an Oscar®-nominated film producer. Based in Paris, he is a partner in Velvet Film since 2008. The feature films he produced include “Moloch Tropical” (2009, TIFF, Berlin, Tribeca) and “Murder in Pacot” (2014, TIFF, Berlin, San Francisco) by Raoul Peck. His latest production, “The Young Karl Marx” by Raoul Peck, has premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and will be released mid-2017. The documentary films he produced include Raoul Peck’s “Fatal Assistance” (2013, Berlinale, Hot Docs, San Francisco) and the Oscar®- nominated “I Am Not Your Negro” (2016) which won the Toronto and Berlin Film Festivals’ Audience award as well as the 2016 Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Documentary (released by Magnolia Pictures and Amazon Studios). Grellety has also produced first documentary films.
Zack Taylor is a freelance filmmaker living in New York City. He studied film at the Newport Film School in Wales. Zack began making mixtapes for friends as a teenager. “Cassette. A Documentary Mixtape” grew out of a nostalgia not only for the medium, but for the process of compiling music for other people. He still makes mixtapes for his fiancé Zoe. “Cassette. A Documentary Mixtape” is his first feature film.
