Films from our festival awarded at Sundance!

The films “Last Men in Aleppo” and “Machines” received awards at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, in the World Cinema Documentary Competition.

“Last Men in Aleppo” received the award for the best film. “Machines” was awarded for cinematography. Moviegoers will be able to see them both at the 14 th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival in May.

“Last Men in Aleppo” shows the “White Helmet” volunteers who sift through the ruins of the Syrian city of Aleppo, which was destroyed during the current conflict. Khaled, Mahmoud, and Subhi hope to find survivors amongst the rubble.

Rahul Jain’s “Machines” received an award for cinematography at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. “Machines” is a tale about the horrible work conditions in one of the textile mills in the highly industrialized Sachin in India.

The 14 th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival will take place on 12-21 May in Warsaw, Wrocław, and Lublin, and on 17-26 May in Gdynia. A local edition of the festival will also take place in Bydgoszcz.
